Capabilities
Equipment and software behind the data
Decision-grade data depends on matching the platform, sensor, and processing path to the question. This is the stack DroneTech Designs brings to commercial sites across Seattle and the Pacific Northwest.
FAA Part 107 certified remote pilot operations
Aircraft
DJI Matrice 400
Enterprise platform for LiDAR and heavier payloads on structured commercial missions.
DJI Mavic 3 Pro Cine
High-resolution imaging for documentation, photogrammetry support, and commercial site stills.
DJI Mini
Lightweight, low-impact capture for tight or sensitive sites.
FPV
Specialized perspectives and confined-space capture where suited.
Sensors & positioning
DJI Zenmuse L3
Aerial LiDAR for terrain, vegetation-covered ground, and structures.
DJI Zenmuse H30T
Zoom visual and thermal imaging for inspections.
RTK / GNSS positioning
Precise positioning workflows where the project calls for them.
Processing & sharing software
DJI Terra
LiDAR point-cloud processing and 2D / 3D reconstruction for DJI enterprise capture.
Pix4D
Photogrammetry — orthomosaics, surface models, point clouds, and quality reports.
WebODM
Open-source photogrammetry pipeline for orthophotos, elevation models, and textured models.
Sketchfab
Browser-based sharing of 3D models with stakeholders — no special software needed.
Workflows
- LiDARMatrice 400 + Zenmuse L3 → DJI Terra → point cloud (LAS/LAZ) → DTM / DSM as scoped
- PhotogrammetryGrid / oblique imagery → DJI Terra, Pix4D, or WebODM → orthomosaic, DSM, point cloud, mesh
- 3D reality captureOrbital + grid imagery → textured mesh (OBJ) → Sketchfab viewer link
- InspectionPlanned visual / thermal passes (H30T) → culled, organized image set → summary
Deliverable types
- Orthomosaics (GeoTIFF)
- Digital surface / terrain models (DSM / DTM)
- Contours (DXF) when scoped
- Point clouds (LAS / LAZ)
- Textured 3D meshes (OBJ) and Sketchfab links
- Volume and cut / fill reports (PDF, CSV)
- Organized visual and thermal inspection image sets
- Dated progress packages for stakeholders
Formats and coordinate systems are confirmed at scoping. Accuracy is project-specific — it depends on control, sensor, altitude, and site conditions, and is stated per project rather than as a blanket claim. See deliverables & formats.
Field operations
- Operations: FAA Part 107. Mission planning matched to airspace, site access, and safety requirements.
- Georeferencing: RTK / GNSS workflows where the project requires them; ground control coordinated with your surveyor when specified.
- On site: client site rules and safety briefings followed on construction, infrastructure, and facility sites.
